Last stop for the summer was Goldsboro NC, a beautiful town that has been blooming like a flower for years. Goldsboro has been transforming for decades, this quaint little town is one of North Carolina’s best-kept secrets for many reasons. There are plenty of hotels, places to shop and restaurants in Goldsboro. This historical lovely city is 55 miles Southeast of Raleigh, 87 miles from Wilmington NC and approximately a one hour drive from Raleigh/Durham Airport.
While visiting, I discovered in their downtown section of Center Street, a Summer Jam Concert Featuring ” The Legacy Motown Review” which had taken place one week prior to my arrival. THE LAUGHING OWL
We did make it our business to stop in at the Laughing Owl located at 100 N. Center St in downtown Goldsboro. We were greeted by a lovely hostess and then the owner came over to welcome us. But what really impressed me was how friendly everyone seemed to be, how great the food was, and how well maintained the establishment was. You will love the amazing turn-of-the-century English pub decor with original bronze light fixtures and metal tile ceilings . We loved the diversity of the menu and I started out with a chicken lettuce wrap that was to die for.
For my entree, I ordered the Orange Sesame Beef. Wow, I am getting hungry just writing about this. OMG, the beef is so flavorful and the vegetable fried rice so fresh and simply delicious.
I highly recommend “The Laughing Owl” if you are looking for great atmosphere and flavorful food. The Laughing Owl is my top pick. The location is great because after you eat, there are plenty of shops in walking distance that will help you burn off some of those calories . Uniquely R’s located at 135 Center St , is a cozy little Home/Garden/Gift and Gallery Shop where you can purchase unique items from all over the country. I had the pleasure of visiting the shop & was overwhelmingly impressed with their amazing selection of unique gifts, collectibles and the beautiful coffee shop/European bakery in the back. The staff seemed very welcoming and was more than happy to explain to about their variety of collectibles featured in the store! Uniquely R’s is definitely Unique!
